Because if they lower the fares, they get more people to buy, and if they can get enough people on the plane, even at those lower fares, they can make more money then selling less seats at a higher fare.
I think they should wait until they actually see load factors at 100% before they start shrinking the F cabin.
And yeah, HP and AS have been pretty successful with the new rational F fares, which is a good thing.
