Thailand reported 427 new confirmed cases,
14 from people on repatriation flights and in state quarantine centers,
397 from active finding tests among migrant workers and
16 from local transmission; with 0 deaths reported;
the total remains at 5,716 infections, and 60 deaths.
Another day where local infections exceed quarantine.
As a side note, did notice a massive construction project, was closed down today. Obviously they use mostly migrant workers, but don't know if this is for testing, ad hoc quarantine nor how long it might last? No clue if any other sites are similarly affected, There are thousands of migrant worker camps scattered across the city. A new one in my neighborhood (opened 1 Dec) looked like everyone was "home" today.
3 Jan is a day often mentioned for the resumption of work/school if closed for COVID.
The PM has made vague threats about provincial and national lockdowns if the people do not follow the advice of the government.
Saw something about crowds greater than 200 being limited to those events which "have permission".
NYE events said to be evaluated by 28 Dec.
