I still don't know how often it is or isn't obvious upon entry whether a pub is Nationalist or Unionist?? Above, I just passed along what someone once told me that if I can't tell by the decor, I should ask a bartender whether that pub is Orange or Green. However, the flamers have called that an idiotically rude & provocative ?? . Will those of you with NI experience please tell me , how to handle it if in doubt? Perhaps by introducing oneself as an American or foreigner from wherever & listening to the locals as mentioned by SMF above?
