I had come up on the LHR-MAN (BA1386) flight which was late and was then off loaded as a mis-connect, despite it being the same plane flying back. The Menzies agent was superb and spent ages trying to get BA to reinstate the ticket - I had a boarding pass. It took her 30 minutes to get through to her helpline at BA by which time the flight was not ready to go due to Security delays,
The agent said that check-in can take two hours at MAN now and that BA have taken all their staff away leaving their agent to deal with any queries.
Got rebooked on the 1535 departure so spent some time in the Aspire lounge where the staff were great.
Not BA's finest hour.
to be fair it wasn’t you only. After the last stragglers turned up we only waited a further 5 or so minutes whilst they tried to sort you out before they decided to go.
i must admit I have never heard of ba offloading due to a late inbound on a b2b - and I don’t remember it being reported before. If that was a regular thing I am struggling to see why all of us on the NQY inaugural stayed on since we were at least an hour late getting in to NQY.
