As we had already walked from the T3 car park to T1 I didn’t want to make my wife walk any more so we went to Special Assistance opposite the Qatar check in desks. We waited 10 minutes for staff to take us and our bags downstairs.

When we reached the BA desks there must of been 50 people waiting to check in at the 2 desks. No priority desk. There also seemed to be problems some passengers tickets and excessive overweight luggage which didn’t help. Luckily for us the staff helping us with the wheelchair was able to get us near the front of the queue.

It took us 1 hour from arriving at the airport to clearing security which was empty.

About 6 people I think were downgraded which caused a lot of anger. Upon boarding those downgraded complained to the CSM asking why some people (pointing in our general direction) hadn’t been downgraded.

From what I could gather the reason for downgrading was because due to the reduced crew members due to social distancing that they can only have a certain number of passengers in CE...
hmmm, I know what type of customers you had on your flight. There were plenty on mine yesterday.
It would appear they don’t fly often, fair play. But also lack common sense and seem to ignore all instructions, very annoying
