My ATL-MSP flight tomorrow leaves at 11:12 am (my MLB-ATL flight is at 8:00am, it's a RJ50 so no upgrade). I am waitlisted for the ATL-MSP upgrade in an "L" class fare. Since my itinerary still shows "On Request" and it's now 11:20am, does that mean I did not get the upgrade and will be placed into a gate lottery?
When would the upgrade program run for my flights? 24 hrs before 8am or 24 hrs before 11:12am?
It's my understanding and experience that each flight clears separately and each at exactly the 24/48/72/100 hour mark. So your 11:12 flight should have cleared by now if there is any inventory left.
If it hasn't then you're probably in the gate lottery. Don't forget to put yourself on the active upgrade list tomorrow when you check-in for your first flight.
