A semi-related upgrade question....

My ATL-MSP flight tomorrow leaves at 11:12 am (my MLB-ATL flight is at 8:00am, it's a RJ50 so no upgrade). I am waitlisted for the ATL-MSP upgrade in an "L" class fare. Since my itinerary still shows "On Request" and it's now 11:20am, does that mean I did not get the upgrade and will be placed into a gate lottery?

When would the upgrade program run for my flights? 24 hrs before 8am or 24 hrs before 11:12am?
