Warning: do NOT go to Walgreens for a PCR test in SoCal for the next few weeks. This week, they just switched from LabCorp to Aegis Labs, and it's a huge [mess]. In order to get your test results, Walgreens gives you a "requisition number" in the format 5xxxxxxx (8 digits). They direct you to the Aegis patient portal (https://patientportal.aegislabs.com/Covid/BeginSession) to check your results, but the 5xxxxxxx requisition number DOES NOT WORK. This is generated by Walgreens / PWN Health - Aegis only generates their own "Lab ID number" when they start processing the sample. This is the number you can ultimately use to check your results on the patient portal, but the only way to get it is to call or email them to look it up after your sample has been processed. Their phone number is (615) 255-2400, but make sure you select Option 2 for Aegis customers - Option 1 or holding leads you to some low-level customer support that doesn't understand any of this. Option 2 has a long hold time, but I was finally able to get to someone who could clearly articulate explain all the issues. Alternatively, you can try emailing [email protected] (a special email set up for Walgreens patients) to get your Lab ID number, but they haven't responded to me.

Apparently, there were also shipping delays getting the samples to Aegis this week, so all results will likely be delayed. It seems that when Aegis finally processes the results, they will pass them to PWN Health, who's supposed to email you your results - however, I'm not sure how much of a delay there will be.

The 24-48 hour Clarity PCR test at LAX seems to be the safest option. I'll probably have to cancel my trip, since it's unlikely that I'll get the results back before my 9AM flight tomorrow. I wish Hawaii would just open this back up to any CLIA-certified lab - their own "trusted travel partners" are incompetent and frustrating.
