Makassan remains a potential eastern (high-speed?) "rail hub" in waiting. Continues to serve commuters connecting to the MRT/ARL. Several development projects (malls, condos, etc.) proposed for all the adjacent land which the SRT "owns".

Pretty sure the Spider (mangmoom) card is dead. It's been five years, still nothing. Saw some news about a potentail universal card. So still no card.

The new red line will serve DMK. Currently SRT trains originating at Hua Lumphong to the north and norteast pass/stop at DMK, so you can still take rail to DMK. Watch the video below as the green line extension has a station (N23) at the NE corner of DMK, and there is some mention of using this and a shuttle bus for connections until the red line opens?
