New regulations:
https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/book-t...nges/elevationLounge service update
Your safety is our top priority. The Elevation Lounge is open for your continued enjoyment, and in adherence with
enhanced public health measures in effect as of December 13, 2020, our service offering has been adjusted:
- Consumption of food and beverage is temporarily not permitted inside the lounge. We will be pleased to provide you with a pre-packaged meal to take with you when you are ready to leave. Alcoholic beverages are also temporarily not available.
- Lounge capacity has been reduced to 15%, with some areas further limited to members of one household at a time.
- Shower facilities and meeting spaces are temporarily closed.
- Masks are required to be worn at all times while inside the lounge.
These adjustments are expected to be in place until at least January 12, 2021. We appreciate your understanding.
What bothered me the most was when I contacted WJ on Saturday night as to what they would be doing on Sunday with the new restrictions, I was told they would be open and continue to serve food/drinks. It was only until I got to the airport early that it was "to go" bags. Huh. How do you not know what you are doing to adhere to the new regulations until you open at 7am? Terrible PR.
Ended up contacting them since they did not have the new changes posted anywhere on social media. Guess I should've booked a AC refundable J to try it out the night before. Guess I now need to wait until late Jan/early Feb at the earliest.
