My husband lives in the LA area while I am in Dallas, so we've been flying this route a lot lately. Usually, I am not seeing Basic Economy fares at all. And it has been ~$41 for regular economy one way DFW-LAX lately.

I'm actually wondering if the Basic Economy inventory you are seeing is an accident because I search this route every couple of days at the minimum and I have hardly seen BE inventory available for the past couple of months. I would say 98% of the time I only see regular economy only. I see today that they have brought BEback, but I swear this happened in early Fall. Like I think September I wasn't seeing BE, it came back for a few days in October, and then it went away for weeks again. It is either mistakes or they can't makeup their mind.
