This will not work. You are disqualified from earning a bonus if you previously had the card. It makes no difference if you received a bonus. Do not do this even if an American Express employee suggests it.
Thanks for confirming. It's an unfortunate way to do business but I suppose they have people that crunch those numbers to determine that a certain number of unsatisfied customers is worth it..?..? Real bummer, I mean the card is competing against CSP in my wallet - but there's not much competition now. I don't feel too bad getting 75K bonus and net $50 in free SW flight credits...
