A 16.9 fl oz shampoo bottle of Aesop is $45. An 8.5 ounce bottle of Le Labo is $30.
A 1.7 oz bottle of Aesop perfume is $135. A 1.7 oz bottle of Le Labo's most popular scent, Santal, is $192.
Go do the math and tell me more about cost cutting?
The Le Labo at PH Kyoto, and I assume at these other Asia-Pacific properties, is made in China, most likely only for hotel use and different from what is sold on the consumer market. The Aesop at PH Tokyo (hopefully still) is the genuine article, made in Australia.
