From what I understood, if BA cancels your flight, you can only move it to any date, no repricing (avios seat available or not), up to 12 months from the date of your original booking, not the date of your flight. We did our booking on 6th October 2020, so we could only move flights to 5th October 2021. Catch 22 for us here, as BA schedule currently does not show flights for us till 1st November 2021.
