I travel to MEX at least once per month and stay at the IC Presidente.
1.) Early morning check in is fine.
2.) When you go to the taxi stand to get your cab, one will offer Executive Service and the one next to it will offer Standard Service at about $10 cheaper. Get the Standard. Half the time the Executive service will just put you in a standard cab and nobody will hear your complaint.
3.) I am not crazy about the IC Presidente but my company has a rate there. For a $150 pesos (about $14 USD) per day, it is well worth buying the club access. They serve a nice breakfast and in the afternoon have wine and sandwiches available. It's a good economy move, plus the club has a beautiful view of the park. The IC just installed wireless service but is charging $20 USD per day for it which I think is outrageous. If you need cheap wireless, there's a Starbuck's across the street with T-Mobile.
