Give Me A Break!
In response to "transpac": give me a break! This poor traveler went through almost h*ll, and you seem to attribute some blame to him! He should be treated better than those "hundreds of passengers" you seem to pity. This guy is a 1K! Whatever happened to treating preferred customers with preferred methods?
I was caught in SYR—coincidence—on Friday afternoon trying to get to ORD then onto GRU. The flights were so delayed that the wonderful UAX agent actually bumped an O/D pax to get me on an earlier flight as so I could actually get to GRU for my three day holiday. This is the way it should be for this 200,000 mile a year flier.
UA should have rebooked their pax proactively--especially there 1K, F, and GS customers--but they did not. Not only should UA 882 get an apology and his SWU back, but he should also be compensated in some way (200 sounds nice) for the disgraceful treatment at SFO.
Reading UA 882's story made this kangaroo hopping mad.
Oh by the way, Sao Paulo is a sunny 22oC!
