I returned a car to Budget at the Tampa Airport in November. They asked if the tank was full (it was) and wouldn't give me a receipt. I asked that they process the return while I wait and provide me the receipt. They did, provided me a receipt. Upon walking to the terminal, I noticed they charged me $20 for a fuel charge. Upon talking to the manager, he used the same 75 mile minimum or the system automatically charges for fuel. I had driven the car 220 miles.
I assume that due to Covid19, they are intentionally trying to maximize profits by billing these erroneous charges.
