Looks like the rumors are true despite Qatar PR saying nothing has changed.

Normally, you should be eligible for lounge access. There is no published policy for award tickets not having lounge access as you mentioned but this could be something new. However, according to OMAAT, Ben over there had received confirmation from a QR spokesperson that award tickets would be unaffected from the changes.

Also, please report us if QR mandated you to have a rapid antigen test at the gate before your flight to MLE.
