We just checked-in at MLE for an itinerary to DOH then LAX in biz on AA award tix. Everything as expected except the last thing the agent asked was if we redeemed miles for our tickets (yes) and that because of this we’re not eligible for lounge access. He then said we could pay for access (didn’t ask pricing as we have a room at the Oryx) but this was pretty disappointing.

Looks like the rumors might be true despite Qatar PR saying nothing has changed.
