- where did you go?
Northstar and Heavenly Valley, Lake Tahoe
- rental process/queue
N/A - we own skis
NO LOCKERS - idiotic.
- lift queue
Depends on time of day. No line at base lift, but 15-20 minutes on the popular lifts mid-mountain because only 5 were open. Not as bad as old days but much worse than normal year.
- bathroom situation
Normal/
- cafeteria
Tolerable. Very limited food selection. Short lines. Eat outdoors only. Was great as we had clear weather, but won't be fun if snowing hard.
- did you take lunch break, or avoid cafeteria?
We have lunch at 1-2pm. Don't wait too long because they run out of food items and close early.
- shuttle bus to resort
N/A. Walk from parking lots. The lack of crowds made for easy parking.
- were people compliant with masks / social distance?
Yes. This is California, people wear masks unlike fools in North Dakota. 99% compliace in village/food areas/lift line areas. Lines were reasonably distanced.
- anything else that was different from a normal year?
Overall I give high marks to the resort for safety. However the experience at each resort was mediocre because Vail did not hire enough people to run the lifts. Slopes were not crowded but terrain was extremely limited. Plenty of snow but only a couple of lifts at each resort. Maybe better at Xmas.
Mandatory advance reservations required - no exceptions - no same day lift tix sold.
