Noticed APR on my Capital One Quicksilver was rather high, so did the usual dance. Call up Capital One, ask for APR reduction and after thanking me for being such a good long time customer with excellent history....... get nice new lower rate. Usually followed by rep saying to call back when new low rate expires to see if anything else was on offer.

This time response was " as of a few months ago Capital One no longer grants APR reductions upon customer request...." When asked why response was things came down from corporate and they weren't told why or whatever, just that things are now what they are.....

Don't usually carry balances but now and then since this is a cash back card will leave things when expecting a big check in several weeks.

Happily my Citi Double Cash back has a very good low APR and so won't have to worry about Capital One, Just wanted to give a heads up...
