Excellent and thorough review. I'm just a regular Platinum member (through stays, not gifted) and booked the BAR rate. I was unfortunately not upgraded (as I do not like the layout and color scheme of the regular rooms here, executive rooms are decent) but do get the excellent lounge experience.

Btw, I can't share the comment about the WiFi - my experience is that it fequently drops and download speed has never been faster than 2.5 Mbps for me (though strangely upload is in fact at 50 Mbps...)

May I ask for how long you booked? I booked for 12 days before moving back to Marriott Surawong where I usually get a residential suite that I absolutely love.
