I wouldn't try that. They always reserve the right to deny addmission. You may not get arrested, but it's not worth in IMHO. Don't forget you are in a "secured" airport location. What if this gets blown out of proportion and the cops/TSA initiate a lockdown or evacuation before they find out what's going on? It's a long shot, but it could happen. Would you want to be a part of that? No club is worth being put on some list that will get you a cavity search every time you travel.
I believe that some of the above replies missed the fact that the OP WAS traveling
to London not the other way around. According to OW rules the OP had every right to be admitted without any hassles, unless the club was full, in which case they do have a right to turn you away.
And finally, this club seems to be the problem child in the system. There have been many, many reports, including by yours truly of being denied entrance. The only possible solution is to write complain letters to BA. I did, but basically I got a canned response with a very weak apology, but maybe if everybody does it after their experience, it may register somewhere at the BA customer service center. (Probably just wishfull thinking on my part).
