Basically 150$ (150,000W from Korea) for "Extra Legroom Seats" - but what does that mean ???? Exit Row? That's kind of a rip off.
Preferred seats - front, ok sure. Standard - everything else?
So "Standard seat selection" is free for everyone AND it's "free for Morning Calm Members." So uh, that's kind of NOTHING for them (me), huh? Typically we got the "privilege" of front seat selection at purchase....which is its own mess because the one time I flew from Atlanta - I got LAST meal selection in said "preferred seat." Way to "take care of elites" haha

Front row seats have usually been available for free when check in opens. Been in row 28 on the A380 a few times. Not sure for the emergency seats as I always seem to miss them for some reason.
Seems like the KE of old is truly gone. Free ticket change, free seat selection, decent redemption options, pretty straightforward FFP, 9 across seating on the 777 etc...
I expect all the things that made KE "old school" will disappear soon enough. I got my status extended to 2022 and have secured requalification after that (not sure how it will work) but this will likely be the last time for me. Would probably have reached Morning Calm Premium had covid not happened but at this point trying so hard for lifetime gold doesn't even seem worth it. I have just enough miles for a last return trip in first in Asia, hopefully they're loaded back into the schedule before the value drops to 0.
KE, you will be missed.
