Doesn't really matter at end of the day; can make all the reservations you want, but if system is programmed a certain way regarding coupons that will be that.

In other words you can make a reservation and even go through check-out without said coupon attached. Upon return when paying, and or even trying to get EC CS afterwards to apply coupon the terms will still kick in regardless.

Sometimes you may get a clueless counter or EC CS rep who tries in vain to apply coupon but doesn't understand why system isn't allowing or making correct deductions. Once things are kicked up to a supervisor/higher tier problem is easily discovered; coupon isn't valid for type of request being made and system is programmed in such a way there isn't anything anyone can do.

It's like OTF days and other promotional coupons. If location in question (where rental begins) does not accept such promotions there is nothing anyone can do (including management) to force system acceptance. It just won't go through. Maybe someone really high up the food chain in corporate might be able to do something, but wouldn't count on that happening.

Keep in mind that message which appears at bottom of every receipt from National/Enterprise; all final charges are subject to final audit. Thus even on the off chance a coupon was applied at location or by CS where it shouldn't that does not mean 30, 60, 90 or whatever days in future some bean counter conducting an audit finds the "error" and reverses things onto CC.
