It sounds typical of what is being offered currently (rebook on any flight where there is availability in the same cabin - no Avios availability required), however it usually 1year from when the ticket was purchased, not 1 year from the when you were due to fly.
That said others (myself included) have managed to have flights moved beyond the 1year ticket validity.
