Last Saturday, SFO-LHR, 5 hour layover in MIA--landed at an A gate and, since it was too early for connecting gate info and I didn’t want to schlep to E for the only AC, decided to exercise my EXP privilege and use the BA Lounge. Even w/my intl boarding pass and EXP card, I’ve honestly had an easier time getting into bribes-are-required countries. After 5 minutes of hemming/hawing and comparing my credentials to the laminated list, I was asked, ‘Where is your departure gate?’. When I responded that it wasn’t posted yet, I was told, ‘We’d prefer that you not wait here.’
Geez, I haven’t been that kitty-clawed (no offense to cats) in quite a while…being a weekend, there were only about 6 other folks in the entire lounge, so it wasn’t even a function of overcrowding. Wonder if they’re trying to discourage AA folks now that B is closed…has anyone else gotten the royal treatment or should I take this personally??
