First world problems, I know, but trying to get the best seats for a trip to New York in an 8-seat 777 First cabin. In short, is it OK to book a bassinet seat without a baby?

My wife and I want two seats close together. Ideally, we'd have at least one window seat as it's a daytime flight, but BA's policies make this really hard as 1A/1K are reserved for Golds. The cabin is empty apart from us at this point in time but only option seems to be 2A/2E. We'd much prefer to sit to starboard to avoid staring into the sun and so that we can view the eastern seaboard of the USA as we approach, but the call centre wouldn't book us 2F/2K as the bassinet seat is reserved for potential infants. So it seems that, even in an empty cabin, it's impossible to get two seats together on the right hand side of the plane in this configuration.

I seem to be able to book 2F online myself. If I do, will the world come to an end? Will I just be turfed out if a baby turns up? And do I sound like a spoiled brat for even asking the question?
