Why to wife's ff account? You can use your ff miles to get a award for you wife/family
Do you or your wife have an immediate need to 200,000 AA miles?. Are a poor investment
If the offer allows you to buy for another (gift) should be OK. That is what they are offereing.

You indicate you get use FF miles for an award for wife/family. I just want to stress it is not limited to family members. As long as you are not compensated for the miles you can get awards for anyone
