Saw that Costco Travel is offering a solid 'deal' for a five night stay package. Sounds like the 'upgrade' via TSU and/or Globalist is negligible, so sacrificing that by booking 3rd party is not that bad. Just confirming the trade-offs:
- Would be sacrificing the Hyatt point earning (25+ points / $) plus the double night promo and would not have 'Club' access.
- Would be saving ~ $700 (plus Costco cash card)
Usually not one to forgo the status / point earning, but 33% off the Best Available Rate is enticing to say the least.
Depends how much you value Hyatt points.
With the current promos I'm valuing the points earning at ~35%. I don't need the extra night credits, but if you're going for status or milestones then you might find them useful. But cash in pocket can be more useful than points building up in an account.
