This is dubious math. By using PYB, you spent $1200 of points to buy a $1200 item. You just used a different currency (UR points).
PYB doesn't save you any money, it allows you to use UR at 1.5 cpp on something other than travel. Many people value UR at > 1.8 cpp. In their eyes, you overpaid by spending at least $1440 of points for that $1200 phone.
