I just got an email from AA offering 50% bonus miles when purchasing 100,000 miles, so 150,000 miles would be $3,500. That's 2.33 cents a mile which is no big deal since I get that offer all the time. However it also offered a 100% bonus when buying miles as a gift. For the same $3,500 I can gift 200,000 miles which is 1.75 cents a mile. I have 2 questions for you gurus out there.
1: My wife also has a AAdvantage account, would I be violating any rules if I gift the miles to her?
2: Is 1.75 cents a mile a good deal?
