If Marriott truly cared about the AE guests, they would improve benefits or service rather than decreasing them and then offering a small monetary gift.

I would love Your24 to be taken seriously by hotels, or have some semblance of reliability. SNAs can be difficult to redeem since hotels are not incentivized to accept them and corporate allowed hotels to offer extremely limited or poor inventory in the upgrade pool.

Even making Your24 a guaranteed benefit would have low impact on hotels bottom lines.

I understand the need to reduce costs, but removing all personal ambassadors indeed was a benefit removal.

They decreased value of the program tier, maintain the qualification requirements, and then offer a discount to spend additional money with them. That doesn’t instill loyalty from me and feels like a ‘slap in the face’.

In tough times, one would expect hotels to treat their top spending guests (who are the only tier with a spend requirement) better since those guests may easily go to their competitors.
