Just for clarity - though I appreciate you probably know this already - the lack of premium economy is not in itself cause to allow you to refuse a rerouting on QR. However, if they insist on rerouting and you do travel, you would become (after arrival) eligible for downgrade reimbursement using the standard formula.

Thanks, we've had good experiences before but for us to buy extra night is >£1000 so I wanted to be on solid ground before calling.
The only QR flight leaves at 01:20 which essentially would truncate the holiday by one night. Plus we'd have to get extra covid tests to transit doha I think. So not an appealing option!
