I've submitted a refund request to Avianca in May and getting frustrated with how long the process took and them not providing a deadline, I've reached out to my credit card issuer for a chargeback. The chargeback was successfully done over a month ago and I received my money back on my credit card. A few weeks ago, Avianca emails me that they've approved my refund and they'll send the money within days. Yesterday Avianca emailed me again sending me my voucher for the same value as my ticket - which I never asked for nor would apply to me (ticket not purchased in Colombia and not originating in Colombia). I'm not sure if I should just ignore or let Avianca know? With all the frustration they caused me, I'm leaning towards letting it go.
I would still get back to them and say request for voucher has never been made and that you'd like cash. They can respond to the chargeback proving they gave you a voucher etc....
