I am surprised the property went for that. Usually they say the upgrade prices are fixed no matter what complementary upgrade you got as an elite at check in.
My reservation says deluxe garden pool bungalow. I used points to book. or maybe I booked King Garden Guestroom and was upgraded automatically due to diamond status? I'm not sure.

Edit: I checked. I booked King Garden Guestroom with points and somehow got upgraded to Deluxe Garden Pool Bungalow probably about a month out. I just have a diamond status from Hilton Aspire from last year and no real spend on the card.
