I didn't like this place that much. Stayed in Sept 2003. No upgrade. Was Platinum at the time. Then again, they don't participate in SPG. They will match rates against Marriott and Pearl. Just fax them the request.

Rooms not great for the price paid (on the same level as a US Sheraton needing renovations). No hot water the first night. Security is cosmestic only. They set up airport style metal detectors but ppl (both locals and foreigners) walk right thru without stopping regardless alarms going off. This was the site of a terrorist bombing in 2002.

The local hotels are at least 25% cheaper with a comparable room.
