Choosing a complimentary exit row seat is important to me BUT when AA replaces (cancels) a flight to BA metal, I am NOT permitted to choose an exit row seat without paying for it. Even then, I have to go to the BA site to pay because AA tells me they do not have an accurate seating chart. If I earn Sapphire/Silver status with BA instead of with AA, does anyone know if I would be able to choose a complimentary exit row seat on AA metal in the event BA cancels a BA flight and rebooks me on AA Metal? Also, does BA Sapphire allow me to choose a complimentary exit row seat if I just book a flight directly via the BA website but the actual flight is on AA metal? I would switch/earn my Sapphire status on BA instead of AA in 2021 if they do. Thank you.
Hi whether you are BA Silver or Oneworld equivalent below is what would apply for seating.
From BA.com:
- Free seat selection is not available on group rate bookings and excludes exit row seats on long haul flights for Bronze and Silver Members.
