I am not sure your interpretation of things is correct. Your OWS status entitles you to free seat selection. This includes exit row on BA and MCE on AA.

Choosing to collect on BA will give you Flagship first lounge access in the US even when flying domestically, but you won’t be able upgraded as AA would do with their own elites.
