  1. AA suspended meal service and people are still buying first class tickets. It would be a nice gesture to restore meals but the lack of them is clearly not making the product less competitive. Indeed, what AA does do with the sandwich and cheese box are far better than what DL offers (the salt+fat cubes, aka snack boxes).
  2. I suspect that a higher percentage of F seats are occupied by upgraders now, which gives AA even less incentive to restore the prior service level.
  3. Preparing, packing, and delivering the meal service would have to change to be more Covid-safe. AA has decided to make those adjustments on a handful of premium transcons but decided it is not worth doing so at scale.
  4. "Getting fed in First Class is half the reason I am there." Really?
  5. Many airport food vendors are closed now, and many folks don;t have time to use them on tight connections.
