I just saw a YR surcharge for the first time and came here for info. Seems odd that they would have two "fuel" surcharges (YQ and YR).

I got an extra lesson/spanking about the YQ surcharge this year from SWISS. RT ticket purchased in early Jan for travel in early April, LAX-EU for $2221

I rebooked the ticket in March for travel end of July. The fare portion dropped from $790 to $600 and the YQ increased from $1200 to $1300. Taxes increased by $1.50.

Seemed like I should get a refund of $88.50, but no. I had to pay the $100 YQ increase plus the $1.50 tax.
