I would not plan any travel, whether to Hawaii or elsewhere, more than 30-45 days out. OP is within that range. But, for others, it just is not worth the hassle. Cancellations, schedule changes, travel restrictions, and the like mean that anything you plan is not really a plan.

Frankly, the 30 days is pretty long, but one has to start planning at some point. Example: last week, if your test was not back by the time of arrival, you would be subject to quarantine until it is back (and negative). Manageable for most. Now, if you do not have a negative test on arrival, it is a full 14 day quarantine even if the negative test arrives 2 hours later.
