Only a very small specific segment of London's population or visitors (even well heeled ones) will go to Mayfair or Knightsbridge (in particular) on a visit. It's very close to Knightsbridge and somewhat further to Mayfair. As the area around Nine Elms is fully redeveloped and comes into its own, I suspect the hotel will have its own niche crowd of people who don't want to have to deal with minor Qatari family royals in their Bugattis or copious amount of high class hookers whenever they wander around their hotel. That said, I can't think of a hotel which is priced what I assume will be comparably which is in a similarly out of the way area - so it will be interesting. This could become a good place to use points and I wonder if it will become an alternative to the Four Seasons for people visiting the City of London (i.e. to the North East) but who are OK with a short tube commute.
I'm looking forward this new property, and not dealing with the Middle Eastern royalty (especially in the summers) is a nice cherry on top.
