While that may hold true for European and Asian properties I feel like properties in the US and Latin America are doing fine. TSA Travel numbers show travel is at 50% of what it was last year. With governments only allowing 50% occupancy coupled with staff lay offs and a reduction in amenities a lot of properties are practically “sold out” (of their available 50% occupancy limit). I definitely only see this trend increasing rather than decreasing.

With all that said I don’t see Hyatt granting a further extension of status as it leaves no true incentive for their most loyal guests (Globalists) to stay with them. If things don’t pick up I can see them doing 1 more “Rollover Nights” promotion, but not outright status extension. I don’t have any doubt there will be some great promos in 2021 as well to incentivize guests to stay with them.
