I find that, to really get those fabled 2+ cpp on points, you have to be booking J or an expensive hotel. For someone like me who would usually book Economy, 1.5 cpp is more value than partner transfer, and right now, there's maybe a small handful of destinations where it's actually worth spending big to travel to IMO.

And also IMO, CSR and CFF/CFU can never devalue each other, they can only enhance each other, as the CSR's earning strength doesn't lie in CSR's earnings potential alone but the entire UR ecosystem that it's at.
