Holiday travel and cancellation policy’s

I was looking to head over to Maui end of Dec/early Jan but notice almost all hotels have between 14-60 day cancellation policy’s . With all the various things that can happen such as not being able to get a test or not getting your test results back by the time you depart seems like a huge risk . Anybody else concerned that’s going at the end of the year ?
