Thanks for any advice, Martin
Here's the latest non-participating property list from the Terms and Conditions of Membership posted at spg.com:
10. Non-participating Properties:
Aladdin Resort and Casino, Pine Cliff (Algarve)Residences, Sheraton Karachi Hotel and Towers, Sheraton Lagos Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Casino and Hotel and The Lanesborough, a St. Regis Hotel. All Starwood Vacation Ownership properties are considered non-participating in SPG.
As you can see, we keep this fairly well updated.
The complimentary lounge benefit for Platinum members is also posted in the Terms and Conditions of Membership and is as follows:
4. Access to the Club Level when staying at Sheraton hotels even when not staying on the Club Level floor(s). Access to the Executive Level when staying at Westin hotels, even when not staying on the Executive Level floor(s). At any time a lounge is full, the hotel may require a member to wait until space is available or may elect to offer an alternative location providing amenities equal or greater to those available in the lounge. If a lounge is closed for any reason, such as renovation, the hotel may consider it not having a lounge during the closed period and is not required to offer alternate accommodations.
I would take this to mean that the Towers lounge is not complimentary unless the hotel wants to allow it.
