The deadline for chargebacks where the reason is that the service was not delivered is 60 days from the date when the service was supposed to be delivered. This applies to air tickets, hotel rooms and other future services. After all, there is no way to determine that a service will not be delivered until it is not delivered.
Many card issuers permit -- but are not required to by law -- as long as a year.
General advice is to watch these things carefully and not play it remotely close. Make an attempt with the vendor (hotel) and then shift to chargeback. Document the chargeback properly and be done with it. Waiting days, weeks and months is not in your interest as a consumer.
