Wanted to give a heads-up to anybody planning on staying at the airside Yotel at Schipol.
I booked a night here last week as I had an overnight layover and
by law cannot enter the European Union. (COVID, sigh.) I used Hotels.Com and recieved an email directly from Yotel confirming the booking.
Fast forward a couple of days. I arrived at Schipol at about 7 pm (my flight out wasn't until 11 am the next day) and was confronted with this:
Yotel failed to notify me ahead of time that the hotel would be closed.
There is also a Mercure on the airside at Schipol. It was, of course, already full by the time this happened -- because of the overflow from Yotel.
I spent the night on a recliner under a florescent light. Crown Lounge did not open until 7 am. Just wanted to let people know not to trust "confirmed" bookings from this outfit.
