Yes, it's the only way. Manage My Booking has limited functionality under BAH or any travel agency booking. So just do a dummy booking for a full Avios redemption on the service(s) in question, if it shows as available, just call up to the the Upgrade using Avios. However! Note that you can normally only upgrade by one cabin, so this would need to be shorthaul or on the few longhaul services without WTP.
